100 wc

The lake was still. A slight mist drifted over the glazed lake. I was alone, not a sound to be heard, I had no sense of time or direction. I wished I had my camera with me to take a picture of the beautiful, eerie scene. My feet crunched on the autumnal leaves as I circle the water. All of a sudden the stillness of the water changed. I stumble backwards onto a hard, brown tree stump as a fish leaps out of the water. For a millisecond I am worried, then I embrace the stunning beauty of the fish.

100 WC

The gym is crowded with people. Frantic mums and dads picking up their children. Hot and sweaty teenagers addicted to the gym, and sugar- high toddlers finishing their 30 minute gym session. One girl, the tiniest of the lot, is having so much fun. She is burpeeing, squatting and push-upping but soon she moves towards the weights. The heaviest one. She takes a deep breath and lifts  the weight, her muscles bulging. Suddenly the gym is silent. She straightens her arms, holding for another second. The gym erupts into applause. But how could something so tiny lift such a big weight?

The easiest peanut butter cookies ever!

You will need:

1 cup of peanut butter

1 cup of sugar

1 egg

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix all the ingredients together. Line a baking sheet and put small dollops of dough on the sheet. Bake for about 7 to 10 minutes.

And you’re done!

These are perfect for an easy snack idea and take 15 minutes max!

The perfect nutella cookies!

Who doesn’t love crispy chocolate chip cookies, stuffed with delicious gooey Nutella! This is my own original recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 8 tablespoons of salted butter
  • ½ cup white sugar (I like to use raw cane sugar with a coarser texture)
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (but I always add a little extra)
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (I use a combination of chocolate chips and chocolate chunks)
  • 1 jar of nutella ( you won’t use the whole jar but it depends how much nutella you want!)
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Firstly melt the butter, I use the microwave (40 seconds should be about right) but you can use a pan instead. Next mix the butter and sugars together until its nice and creamy. Add the vanilla and the egg and mix until incorporated. Add in the flour, baking soda and salt, until it begins to crumble. Just use your hands to bring it all into a large ball. Just tip the chocolate chips into the bowl then incorporate with your hands.
Get a large baking sheet ( you will probably have about 15 to 20 cookies) and line it with baking parchment. Get about a ping-pong ball- sized ball of dough and flatten it onto the tray. Get about a teaspoon of nutella and dollop it onto the cookie. Bring the excess dough around so that it is back into a ball, but this time stuffed with nutella! Continue until you have used up all of the dough. Bake for about 9 minutes… DO NOT OVERBAKE! And enjoy!

100 wc – so that is why I am always last

The teacher looks down at me, her prying eyes burning into my skin. ¨Penelope, this is the 13th time you have been late for class this term, what have you been doing?¨ Her fingernails tap on the desk. ¨Hmm?¨ She says as she cocks an eyebrow. I take a deep breath. A ¨the thing is Miss Barton, Iḿ very busy. I have to take Savannah to nursery, then I need to dash to the shops to buy something for lunch, I have to drop mums pills at home and then come to school. So that is why I´m always last!

100 wc The rainbow eucalyptus

The earth teared with a colossal rip. The early rising dog walkers and morning runners were dumbstruck by the phenomenon happening in front of their very eyes. A pearly white hand reaches through the earth, the soil slipping through the enormous fingers of this… giant? The gasps ring throughout the park as the hand curls around the tree. This caused even more uproar seeing as this wasn’t any old tree, this was the extremely rare, rainbow eucalyptus tree. Just as the large, waxen fingers curled around the rainbow eucalyptus, time froze and the quivering leaves of the tree were still.

100 wc : suicide

Gingerly I pick up the rusty, slightly yellow knife handle. I bring it towards my chest. I stare at the razor-sharp blade as it gets closer to my bare skin. I just want to put it down and forget I ever thought these harrowing thoughts , however I must do it, I can’t live this life of torture anymore… I plunge it into my chest. The pain sears through my body. My head is crammed with memories, my life literally flashing in front of my eyes. It’s remarkable I’m still alive, something I don’t want to be. I have discovered death.
