100 wc week 6

The old beach shack stood, weathered by the brutal sea wind. It had always made me curious, but one day I couldn’t resist my temptation. I went up to the shack and knocked on the door, no reply… I banged on it with my fist, no reply… So I turned the door knob and surprisingly the door swung open easily, I took a cautious step inwards. My heart was racing as the floorboards creaked, I heard a noise and my heart was in my mouth. As the door slammed I knew I wasn’t alone, “Get out right now” he growled.

100 wc, week 6

Halloween, one of the most celebrated occasions where millions of people dress up in spooky costumes to uphold the ancient egyptian tradition, however some people take it a lot more seriously than expected…

The locals of the small town; Clovelly, were stunned to find a pair of legs protruding from a small lake, neighbouring the church. The police were called to investigate, and it didn’t take them long to realise that someone had set it up, potentially as an early halloween joke. The locals weren’t impressed but the fake legs were removed and Clovelly went back to its quiet self.

Max was dreaming. His mind was whirring with elaborate thoughts, a dream playing in his mind. Purple crocodiles were dancing on twisted umbrellas as it rained hot dogs. It was a difficult thought to comprehend but Max was known for always having interesting ideas. His spellbinding trance continued until he heard a voice, “Professor Maximus, it’s time for walkies!” At the word ‘walkies’ Max’s eyes flicked open and his ears flicked up. He allowed his owner to tie his lead and then instantly pulled ahead. As soon as Max had taken a step out of the door, he was stunned…

100 wc Week #42

In 1937 a violin case was sighted floating down the river Thames. Nothing special, many mysterious things had been seen drifting down the Thames, but this was different. The case was open and instead of a violin inside it, there was a baby, perched on the scarlet cushion inside. The baby was not crying, instead, it was laughing, eyes watering as the sun-kissed its cheek. One would have thought that anyone would’ve bent over backwards for such a beautiful child, but the parents must’ve found the endless baby-needs annoying so they got rid of it by leaving it in a river.

As I drove down the sunny, beachside lane, I saw a beach swarming with hungry ice-cream lovers. When I pulled up, I was surrounded. The eyes of the children quickly went to the menu, they gasped in delight at the thought of raspberry and caramel sorbet, fizzy orange and white chocolate gelato, liquorice and fejoa ice-cream and more mind-boggling delights. As soon as I was ready, I got straight to work. When all of a sudden it hit me, the newest flavour: mango and chocolate custard. It would be huge, an phenomenon! And I couldn’t wait to try it out…

We trudged up the hill, the leaves crunching beneath our feet. The tuis and fantails twittered and screeched in the trees. It was boiling hot, the sun filtering in through the trees. My irritating sister was complaining again, and it went on and on, all the way to the top. There the city lay in front of us. It was stunning. We were both silenced by the beauty of the view. But all of a sudden the weather changed, the sun was clouded and we were drenched by the fat raindrops falling on our heads. Our lovely walk was ruined!

The three of us hopped into our van, roaming the streets for anything needed to be cleared up. As we turned the corner, we all gasped in unison. There, towering above us, was a huge chocolate egg, oozing with sticky filling, dotted with flakes of chocolate. At the sight of this, we instantly got to work. We placed three traffic cones around the enormous egg. We discussed our plan before we began the clear up. I climbed onto the egg to examine the pool of gooeyness. I bent over to look a little closer but I lost my footing and…

100 wc week #32

I licked my lips, a silly mistake really, considering my body is merely paper and glue. My mouth watered as I watched the steam rise from my meal. The bread was sprinkled with sunflower seeds and the fluffy lettuce leaves poked out from the stack of deliciousness. It was both a feast for the eyes and also the mouth. I stretched out my fingers, the excitement building, as I grasped the rich brioche I opened my mouth. Letting out a grunt of satisfaction, my teeth sank into the burger. Tastebuds tingling, I sighed. That was truly the best meal ever.

The river bank collapsed under the colossal weight of the crocodile. The clayish mud slipped within the grasps of the river as the claws of the beast scrambled onto the undergrowth. My breathing was quickening, coming out in abrupt rasps. I tripped over a tree stump, brambles scratching my bare legs. I look into the orange eyes of my… murderer? I pray for a miracle, that it will lose interest in me and move on. It advances towards me and the wide jaw opens. I stumbled backwards but I was practically glued to the spot. The teeth clamp down and…

100 wc Week 1

It was my eleventh birthday and I was blowing out the candles on my pink and blue chocolate cake. My brother had a mischievous look in his eye. Ignoring him, I savour my one special moment. Just as I pick up the knife to cut the cake, I am startled my a tremendous rip. The ceiling collapsed, dripping with a yellow fluorescent substance. It splashed into my hair, I gasped as the slime dripped through my fingers. My brother is spluttering, obviously finding the scene highly amusing. My dad is laughing but my mum rushed to my side helping me.
